Join the Celebration! For those who were with us last November, you will recall that we in DHIQC celebrate the dates of the original National Quality Month which was originated in Japan in 1959. In the late 1980s this was noted by the United Nations but being more cautious, announced an international ‘Quality Day’. We have stuck to the concept of Quality month since our original organisation, David Hutchins Associates in the 1980's adopted it in 1982! Japan’s Quality Month includes: The announcement of the various Deming Awards. Quality Month is the ideal time to raise the profile of Quality in your organisation, especially if Quality is perceived to be all about blame, non conformances, defects lists and regulations.

David Hutchins Innovation have backed this campaign to draw attention to quality education and focus the importance of making quality an essential part of the organisation. We have a number of activities in the month of November: The Student of the Year Award, Exceptional Achievement Award, Quality Month Logo Competition, Sustainable Development Goals Award, Contribution to Quality Month Award and the DHI International Conference (online).

As part of the National Quality Month which is staged every year in November, David Hutchins Innovation will celebrate the achievements of our incredible students through our student award. The main criteria for the Award will be our judgement of the students who wish to take part (some might not want to), who has in our opinion had the greatest impact on the Quality performance of his/her company as explained on the relevant student’s assignments. The aim of the award to to encourage students to attempt to make what they learn on our courses, relevant to the performance of their organisations and does not in any way imply a particular ranking of students.
